Persis Zine Submissions

We are so happy to announce our open call for submissions for our inaugural issue of Persis Zine!

The theme is "colours" and is meant to portray what you find colourful. We invite you to investigate your surroundings and you within, and tell us what colour means to you. The passing colours of autumn leaves, the desaturated colours of modern movies, or the colour of your skin, we hope to see the world through your eyes.

We welcome all Canadian works in: poetry, short story, artworks (traditional and digital), and photography. Other forms of submissions are also highly encouraged! Persis Zine will be available in both print and digital formats for those interested.

Submissions close on December 10th. Follow our Zine Instagram for updates!

Submission Guidelines

  1. For all works, please include your work, your full name, a short bio, and a headshot (your headshot can be a photograph, social icon, drawing, or any symbol or photo that resonates with you).

  2. Poetry: all poetry forms are encouraged as long as they follow our theme. Please submit your work in pdf format to preserve formatting.

  3. Short story: While there are no minimums on written works, there is a maximum of 2000 words. Please submit your work in pdf format to preserve formatting. Make sure that your work is free of spelling or grammar errors; if accepted, they will be printed as is.

  4. Artworks (traditional and digital): Since we plan on creating printed copies of the Persis Zine, you must ensure that your submitted work matches artwork guidelines as closely as possible. For best results, please submit PDF files in CMYK format of at 100-300 ppi. Printed results may be of slightly different colours if guidelines are not followed. Make sure your file is as high quality as possible.
